We specialize in exotic culinary destinations, with trips led by knowledgeable expert guides that are language-fluent and passionate about the foods and the cultures of the locations visited. We’ve spent considerable time there and we know what to do and where to do it; we’ve carefully researched every venue and activity…in short, all of the thinking and planning has been done for you. We travel and stay in four and five star comfort, and provide a carefree and relaxing journey.

 We know your old reservations about international travel, because we used to have them ourselves. Some people worry or have concerns about foreign destinations: they don’t speak the language and can’t read the signs; they have been let down by supposedly accurate guidebooks in the past, or they can’t invest the necessary amount of time for trip research; they have limited time abroad and have been frustrated with their choice of restaurants, with hotels that turn out to be lemons, with wasted time, taxis that tout, etc.

These are never concerns with an Atlas tour. Our emphasis is on showing our clients the origins of the region’s cuisine and how the foodstuffs are grown and harvested, how they are transported, marketed, and processed, and how they make their way through the markets to the plate at the local restaurant, food vendor, or home kitchen. When you reach the end of your adventure with us, you will be intimately familiar with every aspect of the cuisine, and will have tasted the best of all that the region has to offer. At the same time, we avidly explore the arts and culture of the destination, making for a complete examination of the destination.

We will eat almost exclusively at sites that feature local, authentically prepared foods, and dine in venues that range from street and market vendors, home kitchens, and all class levels of restaurants. No cooking skills are required by our clients, although cooking classes can be arranged and offered if desired.

An Atlas client simply needs to be a lover of incredible food and drink, a devotee of the exotic, possess a genuine curiosity about global culture and cuisine, and have a touch of the vagabond mentality. Atlas will provide you a fun and fulfilling culinary adventure that you will never forget.

Besides our international trips, Atlas will also be leading tours to select domestic (American) destinations, such as the Bay Area, New York City , New Orleans , Napa Valley , Memphis , etc. These tours will take a very unique perspective and focus, providing the client a trip unlike any they could take on their own, while providing them the very best of the destination, with intimate access to some of the region’s food gurus. You will eat and drink in maximum comfort and get the tour of a lifetime.
